Digital Competence and Sovereignty

Digitization and networking are making their way into almost all areas of life - whether at work or in the private sphere. Besides the enormous potential for facilitation that technologies and digital innovations offer people, however, dealing with them can also be characterized by individual obstacles and potential risks for the individual. In our research, we focus on how a competent and sovereign approach to technology can be designed and encouraged digitally – for example, through Gamification or the style of interface design. With the help of qualitative empirical methods, we draw conclusions about the experience and behavior of users in the interaction with digital technologies. Thus, drivers and obstacles surrounding acceptance can be identified to include these in a user-centered technology development.
