Research interests

Tanja Könen's research focuses on the development and plasticity of cognitive skills. She investigates short-term variability and long-term development of cognitive performance and how mood, self-regulation and sleeping behaviour are connected to them. Working memory, which processes, stores, and updates information, is in the focus of this investigation. Moreover, she researches cognitive flexibility, inhibition, fluid intelligence and their interplay. In the field of research methods she is interested in ambulatory assessment, intervention studies, and longitudinal modelling.
